The Dolphins grabbed control of the game early with a four-goal first quarter that was followed by a seven-goal second. Thomas also added an assist during the first half to help the hosts carry an 11-0 edge into the intermission.
After the Dolphins tacked on three additional scores to start the third stanza, Southern New Hampshire broke through for a pair of goals to close out the frame. West potted his fifth of the year with 5:41 left in the quarter before he tallied his second of the afternoon and third of the NE-10 Championship at 11:16.
The two sides traded markers late in the fourth, with Daniel Lynch finding the back of the net for Le Moyne and freshman Tom Schutz (Trumbull, Conn.) notching his third of the season with 12 seconds left in regulation for the Penmen to cap the game's scoring.
Junior Tyler Walsh (Northampton, Mass.) turned aside 11 of the 25 shots he faced in the Southern New Hampshire goal during the game's first 52:59 before giving way to sophomore Michael Brawley (Tewksbury, Mass.), who made one save in the last 7:01 of the contest.
Thomas collected a game-high five points on three goals and two assists for Le Moyne, which received multiple goals from four different student-athletes and at least one point from 13. Alex Krawec remained unbeaten in net at 16-0 with a nine-save effort in 39:19 of action. Tyler Hall and Kyle Lumpe took over for the final 20:41, and combined for five stops on seven shots.
