Riemer's 1-Under Leads Men's Golf to Eagle Invitational Victory

Junior Sam Riemer (Canton, Mass.) fired the best round of the tournament when it mattered most, placing second, overall, while leading the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team to a first-place finish at Post University's Eagle Invitational on Tuesday at the Watertown Golf Club.

Riemer's 1-under 70 was five strokes better than his opening-round showing, giving him a 3-over 145 for the tournament, which put him in second place – two shots behind the winner.

Sophomore Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) finished in a tie for third, as he added a 74 to Monday's 72 for a two-round total of 146.

Junior Joshua LaCasse (Bow, N.H.) also carded a 74, beating his opening-round number by three strokes to tie for 10th with a 151.

Sophomore Drew Kane (Scarborough, Maine), who did not factor into the team score Monday, did in the final round with a 76 that left him with a 154 for the tournament.

Sophomore Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.), who shot a 73 in the opening round, penciled in an 80 on Tuesday and did not factor in the team score, but finished tied for 15th with a 153.

Playing as individuals, sophomore Jacob Rosen (Johnston, R.I.) finished with a 158 (80/78), while junior Etienne Bourgoin (Abington, Mass.) totaled a 165 (81/84).

Notes:
- Southern New Hampshire now has come away with a tournament title at three of the four events it has played this year, in addition to having a dual-match win on its resume.
- Saint Thomas Aquinas College's Hamish Houston earned individual medalist honors with a two-round total of 143.
- Riemer made par a tournament-high 26 times over the 36 holes, while also adding in four birdies.
- The Eagle Invitational was comprised of 55 student-athletes from nine institutions.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Oct. 13-14 at the Le Moyne Fall Invitational, which will take place in Cicero, N.Y., at the Lake Shore Yacht Club.
