When and Where:
 October 14, 2017 – Manchester, N.H. (Larkin Field)
Score:
Southern New Hampshire University 2, Franklin Pierce University 0
Records: SNHU 9-2-1 (6-2-1 NE10), FPU 6-3-2 (4-3-2 NE10)

Sophomore Louka Masset (Paris, France) snapped a scoreless tie in the 71st minute and junior Alex Satrustegui (Pamplona, Spain) added insurance less than three minutes later, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team picked up an important 2-0 Northeast-10 victory against in-state rival Franklin Pierce University on Saturday night at Larkin Field.

The first truly dangerous opportunity occurred early in the 42nd minute when Noam Kolakofsky dribbled the ball into the left side of the box with an angle to get a shot off and did – sending a low bid toward the far post, but junior goalkeeper Daniel Milton (Ajax, Ontario) fully extended to his left and covered to the far post, with the ball eventually rolling just wide.

The Penmen looked to draw first blood in the 64th minute, going on the attack before freshman Tom Marriott (Nottingham, England) ripped a shot from the top-right corner of the box that rolled just out of the reach of Franklin Pierce goalkeeper Jadel Poon-Lewis and the far post.

SNHU kept attacking, with Satrustegui racing in to bury a loose ball, but he was upended by Poon-Lewis, who reached the ball a split second before Satrustegui to keep it scoreless late in the 67th minute.

Franklin Pierce nearly went ahead late in the 69th minute as Oran Ben Zion unleashed a blast from the top of the box, but Milton dove to his left and, in midair, knocked the ball out of danger.

All that knocking on the door for the Penmen paid off in the 71st minute as sophomore Romain Daniellou (Brest, France) sent a corner service into the near side of the box, where Masset flicked a header into the top-right corner of the net to snap the scoreless deadlock.

Southern New Hampshire struck again less than three minutes later when sophomore Chaney Nash-Gibney (So. Burlington, Vt.) delivered a long cross from the right into the left side of the box, where junior Claude Diesse (Broussard, Quebec) headed the ball back across the box to Satrustegui, who finished this chance into the right side of the net to make it 2-0.

The Penmen nearly added to their lead in the 80th minute, but a blast from freshman Daniel Jones (W. Hartford, Conn.) rung off the crossbar.

Notes:
- Southern New Hampshire has now won three straight.
- Masset's goal was his fifth of the season and the seventh of his career, while the strike for Satrustegui was his 11th of the year in his first season with the Penmen.
- Southern New Hampshire held a 14-8 advantage in shots, including 9-4 in the second stanza, in addition to owning a 5-0 margin in corner kicks.
- SNHU is now 79-10-7 (.859) over its last 96 matches dating back to the beginning of the 2013 National Championship season, while it is unbeaten in 65 of its last 71 (61-6-4; .887) at home.
