Men's Tennis Blanks Emerson, 9-0, to Claim Best Start Ever

Junior Jeremy Reichentahl (Cheshire, Conn.) only dropped two games all day as the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team breezed to a 9-0 victory against Emerson College on Saturday evening at the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown. 

Reichentahl teamed with classmate Tiago Fernandes (Porto, Portugal) for an 8-1 win against Aren Kabarajian and Matt Jepsky at No. 3 doubles. Junior Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) and freshman Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) rolled to an 8-2 victory at No. 2 doubles against Brock Higley and Joshua Freud, while juniors Ricardo Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) and Miguel Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) posted an 8-3 victory against Daniel Okin and Andrew Cooper at No. 1.

In singles play, Reichentahl dispatched Kabarajian, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 5 singles, with van Biezen registering the same score against Higley at No. 4. Freshman Adam Courtemanche (Greenville, R.I.) secured his first career win with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Samir Beria at No. 6 singles. 

Fernandes defeated Okin, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 1 singles, with Ricardo Marreiros winning, 6-2, 6-2, against Cooper at No. 2. Aubron downed Freud, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 singles.

Notes:
-The Penmen begin the season 6-0 for the first time ever.
-SNHU is ranked fourth in the Oracle/ITA East Regional Rankings.
