Sophomore Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) fired an even-par 72 as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team opened the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional on Monday and sits in a 17^th-place tie after the opening round at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W.Va. 

Paradis is in fifth place, overall, amongst individuals following the first 18 holes.

Senior John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) carded a 79, while junior Sam Riemer (Canton, Mass.) was right behind with an 80. 

Junior Joshua LaCasse (Bow, N.H.) finished with an 85.

Notes:
- Freshman Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.) shot an 87 that did not factor in the team scoring.
- Mercyhurst University is leading the pack after day one with a 298, which is two strokes ahead of Dominican (N.Y.) College.
- Mercyhurst's Chris Kupniewski and Dominican's Hunter Westcott are tied for first on the individual leaderboard after shooting 3-under 69s.
- The NCAA Atlantic/East Regional is comprised of 20 institutions and 107 student-athletes.
