Riemer Claims Medalist Honors as Men's Golf Captures FPU Fall Invitational Title

Junior Sam Riemer (Canton, Mass.) matched his opening-round 72 in the final round Monday, as he took home individual medalist honors and led the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team to its first tournament title of the season at the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational at Keene Country Club. 

Riemer shot even par for the second consecutive day to finish even for the tournament at 144. 

Sophomore Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) recovered from Sunday's 83 as he equaled Riemer's round with a 72 of his own for a two-day total of 155, which placed him 14th

Junior Joshua LaCasse (Bow, N.H.), who was tied with Riemer atop the leader board following the opening round, carded a 76 to place third, overall, with a 4-over 148. 

Sophomore Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) also turned in a round of 76 Monday and tied for seventh with a two-round total of 150, following his opening-round 74. 

Notes:
- Senior Ben Scott (Lexington, Mass.), who factored in Sunday's scoring with an 80, did not in the final round, as he totaled an 85.
- Playing as an individual, junior Tyler Silver (Lebanon, N.H.) tied for 12th, as he followed up his opening-round 75 with a 78 Monday.
- Southern New Hampshire edged Sunday's round of 298 by two shots to finish with a 594, which was four strokes better than host Franklin Pierce.
- Riemer finished three strokes ahead of Franklin Pierce's Keeton Foster, who carded the top round of the day with a 71, but finished 3-over for the tournament.
- Riemer added to his tournament-best five birdies following Sunday's round with four more Monday to finish with nine, which was one ahead of the next closest competitor – his teammate, Paradis.
- The FPU Fall Invitational was comprised of 60 student-athletes from 10 institutions.
