Elder received recognition for her performance in the shot put, as the top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction. The regions used for the awards include Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West. A total of 521 women from 120 different institutions nationwide received All-Region laurels.

Elder finished the indoor season with a top-five finish in each of the seven meets in which she competed in, which included six top-two showings and five event victories. Elder's finest performance of the season and her career came on February 3, as she unloaded a heave of 13.67 meters (44 feet, 10.25 inches) to set a new personal record and finish first in Division II at the New England Indoor Championships.

Southern New Hampshire opens its 2018 outdoor campaign on March 31 when it hosts the SNHU Spring Invitational in the inaugural track and field competition at Penmen Stadium.
