Graduate student Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) won a pair of matches, including the clincher, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team defeated Roberts Wesleyan College, 8-1, Friday at the YMCA Allard Center.

Seniors Tiago Fernandes (Porto, Portugal) and Jeremy Reichentahl (Cheshire, Conn.) set the tone early, rolling to an 8-0 No. 3 doubles victory against Harmeet Luthra and Andrew Freeman. Fellow seniors Ricardo Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) and Miguel Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) followed with an 8-2 win at No. 2 against Dustin Eshleman and Dennis Barlotta, before Aubron and sophomore Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) made it 3-0 with an 8-3 triumph against Hugo Ball-Greene and Guido Janssen at No. 1.

Southern New Hampshire wasted no time putting it away, as Miguel Marreiros breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Barlotta at No. 3 and Aubron registered a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4 over Luthra to clinch it.

Roberts Wesleyan then gained its lone point of the match, with Janssen outlasting Ricardo Marreiros, 7-5, 3-6, 10-6, at No. 2. Fernandes answered with a 7-6 (10-8), 6-2 victory at No. 1 against Ball-Greene, while van Biezen and Reichentahl earned an 8-1 win at No. 5 over Freeman and an 8-4 victory against Matthew Cruz at No. 6, respectively.

Notes:
-Southern New Hampshire has now won three-in-a-row.
-van Biezen, who is 14-2 on the season in singles play, has won 12 of 13, including eight straight.
-The Penmen are ranked No. 4 in the ITA Division II East Regional Rankings.
