Junior Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) fired a 1-under 70 to lead the pack in the opening round of Le Moyne College Mike Bello Spring Invitational on Thursday, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team finished second at Bellevue Country Club.

Paradis sits first after 18 holes, just three shots ahead of Roberts Wesleyan College's Erich Spitz and Alec Kunzwiler, who checked in with 73s.

Junior Sam Riemer (Canton, Mass.) and sophomore Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) each carded a 75 to tie for ninth, while junior Tyler Silver (Lebanon, N.H.) rounded out the Penmen scorers with an 80 to tie for 37^th.

Senior Joshua LaCasse (Bow, N.H.), who did not factor in the team scoring, finished with a 91.

Playing as individuals, junior Etienne Bourgoin (Abington, Mass.), and sophomores Jeremy Duhamel (Manchester, N.H.), Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.) and Jacob Rosen (Johnston,R.I.) shot 76 (T13), 77 (T20), 78 (T25) and 86 (T67), respectively.

Notes:
- Roberts Wesleyan currently leads with a 12-over 296 through one round of play.
- Paradis is in a three-way tie for the most birdies in the tournament with four, thus far.
- The Mike Bello Spring Invitational is comprised of 83 student-athletes from 15 institutions.
