When and Where: April 14, 2018 – Rindge, N.H. (Sodexo Field)
Score: Franklin Pierce University 12, Southern New Hampshire University 10
Records: SNHU 4-7 (2-6 Northeat-10), FPU 5-5 (3-5 Northeast-10)

Senior Corey Cairo (Shoreham, N.Y.) scored twice and added two assists on Saturday, but Franklin Pierce University outscored the Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse team, 4-1, in the fourth quarter to move past the Penmen, 12-10.

Senior Devin Calkins (Bow, N.H.) added a pair of goals and a helper in the setback while junior Tom Schutz (Trumbull, Conn.) chipped in with two goals of his own.

Nevin Kriger led the way for the Ravens with four goals while Sean Delea also added four points on a hat trick and an assist.

After falling behind by a 7-4 margin through the first 30 minutes of action, Southern New Hampshire scored six of the first seven goals of the second half to open a 10-8 lead with 10:50 left in regulation. Calkins cashed in a feed from Cairo early in the third to trim the Penmen deficit to a pair before back-to-back goals by senior Mark Beirne (Hooksett, N.H.) and Schutz at eight minutes and 8:23 of the third knotted the score. Delea reestablished a one-goal cushion for Franklin Pierce before redshirt freshman Jayden Jean (Malden, Mass.) tallied the first of his career with 4:46 left in the third. After junior Joseph Mayernik (Pearl River, N.Y.) gave Southern New Hampshire its first lead of the game with under two minutes to go in the quarter, Cairo opened the fourth with his second of the day to give SNHU a two-goal edge.

That would all the offense the Penmen would muster, as the Ravens closed the contest with a four-goal run that spanned the final nine minutes of regulation. Benjamin Lassow started the burst with 8:48 to go before Kriger knotted the score at 7:08 of the fourth. Kriger broke the deadlock with 2:25 remaining before Luke Tracy capped the game's scoring with under a minute to play.

Delea opened the game's scoring 1:16 into the contest with his 17thof the season, and after Cairo drew Southern New Hampshire at 2:28, Lassow and Kriger struck for a goal apiece to make it 3-1 with 6:44 left in the first. The Penmen answered right back, as Calkins and Schutz added single markers at 11:14 and 13:54, respectively, to make it three-all heading into the second. The second quarter belonged to the Ravens, however, as they outscored Southern New Hampshire, 4-1, with the lone goal of the stanza coming off the stick of senior Khyan Gaddy (Albany, N.Y.) midway through the frame.

Senior Michael Brawley (Tewksbury, Mass.) was tagged with the loss for the Penmen despite stopping 18 shots in the setback. Justin Lorenzo earned the win in the cage for the Ravens after steering aside even shots in 46:06 of relief of Connor Wacksman, who surrendered three goals on five shots in the opening 13:64.
