Olivar, Men's Golf Finish Second at the Penmen Spring Invitational

Sophomore Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.) carded a 2-under 70 in Sunday's final round to finish second, overall, at the Penmen Spring Invitational, while the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team also placed second at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

Olivar, who was tied for fifth with a 73 after Saturday's opening round, turned in Sunday's second best score to finish just two strokes back of the winner with a 1-under 143.

Fellow sophomore Jacob Rosen (Johnston, R.I.) shot a 74 to better his first round by two strokes, as he tied for 12th with a 150.

Junior Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.), who led the field following Saturday's 69, turned in a 75 in round two and finished fourth, overall, with an even-par 144.

Sophomore Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) penciled in a 76 to go with his 73 from Saturday, tying for eighth with a 149.

Junior Sam Riemer (Canton, Mass.) did not factor into the scoring with a 77, which put him at 158 for the tournament.

Playing as individuals, senior Joshua LaCasse (Bow, N.H.), freshman Jacob Cole (Hillsborough, N.H.), junior Tyler Silver (Lebanon, N.H.), senior Ben Scott (Lexington, Mass.), junior Tyler Cole (Bow, N.H.), sophomore Jeremy Duhamel (Manchester, N.H.), and junior Etienne Bourgoin (Abington, Mass.) shot 78 (151/T5), 75 (152/T18), 76 (155/T26), 84 (162/41), 83 (164/T43), 83 (164/T43) and 88 (168/47), respectively.

Notes:
- Roberts Wesleyan College won the tournament with a 4-over 580 – just six strokes ahead of the Penmen.
- Roberts Wesleyan's Erich Spitz captured individual medalist honors with a tournament-low 68 Sunday, finishing with a 3-under 141.
- Olivar made eight birdies for the tourney, putting him second and just one behind Spitz.
- The Penmen Spring Invitational was comprised of 50 student-athletes from eight institutions.
