Notes: The Penmen head into Saturday's twin bill with the Chargers on the heels of a 2-0 blanking of Stonehill College on Monday. Southern New Hampshire, which sits No. 23 in the most recent National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) poll, salvaged the final game of a three-game series thanks to a two-run double by senior Sarah Lavallee (Candia, N.H.) and a complete-game, four-hit shutout by sophomore Maddy Barone (Halifax, Mass.). Lavallee connected on the two-bagger in the top half of the first inning, which scraped the top of the right field wall and plated sophomore Jordan Wade (East Taunton, Mass.) and junior Erin Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) with the games' only runs. Barone made the lead stand, as she fanned 10 and did not issue a walk in her 10thcomplete game of the season.

Notes: The Chargers look to put a halt to their three-game slide after being swept by Pace University on Thursday. New Haven dropped the opener, 8-0, in six innings before squandering a 5-3 lead in the sixth and falling on a walk-off in game two, 6-5. Senior Tori Schiebe (Monroe, Conn.) was one of three Chargers to collect a pair of hits in the twin bill, as she was joined by classmate Kristine Liptack (Trumbull, Conn.) and freshman Jovanna Hillman (Seymour, Conn.). Schiebe also drove in a run during game two, which saw New Haven build a 3-2 lead before upping its advantage to 5-3 through five and a half. A two-run home half of the sixth followed by one run in the seventh capped the rally for Pace, and completed the sweep.
