Senior Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) fired a 1-under 69 Monday, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team sits in a second-place tie following the first round of the Penmen Fall Invitational, which it is hosting at Hanover Country Club.

INDIVIDUAL SCORERS

• Paradis is tied for third and was one of just four golfers to shoot under par Monday.
• Freshman Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) carded a 73 to tie for 19^th.
• Junior Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) is tied for 21^st with a 74.
• Freshman Brennan Hughes (Bedford, N.H.) rounded out the Penmen scorers with a 79.

NOTES

• Junior Drew Kane (Scarborough, Maine), who did not factor in the scoring, turned in an 81.
• Playing as individuals, Seniors Etienne Bourgoin (Abington, Mass.) and Tyler Cole (Bow, N.H.) each shot 2-over 72.
• Junior Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.), sophomore Jacob Cole (Hillsborough, N.H.), junior Jeremy Duhamel (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomore Jacob Rosen (Johnston, R.I.) also played as individuals and penciled in 74, 77, 80 and 81, respectively.
• Paradis and Bourgoin tied for the third most birdies in the first round with four.
• Laval University leads the field with an even-par 280, which is 15 shots ahead of SNHU and Franklin Pierce University.
• Laval's Emile Provost and Le Moyne College's Joe Petrin are atop the leaderboard after shooting 2-under 68, which is one stroke better than Paradis and Arthur Heinkele from Leval.
• The Penmen Fall Invitational is comprised of 76 student-athletes from 13 institutions.
