Field Hockey Signs Riley to its Program Via Team IMPACT

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University field team officially signed Riley Marquis (Derry, N.H.) to its program Monday after being matched with the 5-year-old through Team IMPACT.

Riley, who was diagnosed with Leigh's Disease in 2014, has an unbreakable spirit and loves to dance. She is always looking forward to meeting new people and can brighten a room with her smile.

In addition to her twin brother, Carter, and parents Amy and Jason, Riley now has the support of the 26-member SNHU field hockey team and its coaching staff.

Following a few words from head coach Julie Munson and junior team advocate Marissa Leger (Holliston, Mass.), Riley signed her Letter of Intent, was presented with team apparel and took part in a team-bonding activity.

Team IMPACT is a non-profit organization that improves the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses by matching them with collegiate athletic teams. Riley becomes the seventh current member of the SNHU family through Team IMPACT, as well as its 10th all-time letterwinner since 2012.
