Freshman Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) fired a 4-under 67 to help position the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team in second place, just one stroke behind Assumption College, after the opening round of the Eagles Invitational on Monday at Watertown (Conn.) Golf Club.
INDIVIDUAL SCORERS
- Mscisz converted five birdies in the opening round and owns a one-stroke lead.
- Senior Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) is tied for eighth after shooting a 2-over 73.
- Senior Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomore Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) each shot a 76 and are tied for 20th.
NOTES
- Freshman Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) did not factor into the scoring with a 78.
- Assumpton (291) leads SNHU (292) by one stroke with Le Moyne College (297) in third place.
- Mscisz holds a one-shot lead over St. Thomas Aquinas College's Shkelqim Kukaj.
- The Eagles Invitational is comprised of 50 golfers from 10 institutions.
