NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the third time this year, senior Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team was named the Northeast-10 Golfer of the Week and freshman Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) was selected as the NE10 Rookie of the Week, both for the period ending April 2, the conference office announced Wednesday.
The pair swept the weekly awards on both Sept. 12 and Sept. 19.
Paradis, who earns the honor for the fourth time this season (Oct. 24), has averaged a 73.8 across five rounds at two spring tournaments, thus far. Paradis tied for ninth out of 83 golfers at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on March 3-5 at the Royal Golf Links in Las Vegas, Nev., shooting a 1-under 215 (74-70-71) at the three-round event. Paradis then tied for 18th of 72 participants at The Trojan – Mount Olive Spring Invitational on April 1 at Walnut Greek Golf Club in Goldsboro, N.C., carding a 154 (78-76).
Conti, meanwhile, finished 42nd out of 72 golfers at The Trojan, shooting an 84 in the opening round, before bettering his score by six shots to finish at 162 for the two rounds.
Paradis, Conti and the Penmen return to the links April 13-14 for the Assumption Spring Invitational at Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, Mass.
