Senior Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.) fired an even-par 72 to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team to a first-place finish after the opening round of the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational on Sunday.
INDIVIDUAL SCORERS
- Olivar is tied for second – just three shots back of the leader.
- Freshman Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) carded a 73 to tie for fifth.
- Senior Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) shot a 74 to tie for eighth.
- Freshman Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) rounded out the Penmen scorers with a 76 that has him tied for 17th.
NOTES
- Sophomore Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) did not factor into the scoring, but is tied for 21st with a 77.
- SNHU holds a six-shot lead over Franklin Pierce.
- St. Thomas Aquinas College's Travis Fay sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 3-under 69, which is three strokes better than the field.
- The Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational is comprised of 75 golfers from 14 institutions.
