KEY MOMENTS
- Southern Connecticut was within three at 73-70 with under two minutes to play when the Penmen ran off six-in-a-row to widen the gap to 79-70 with 41 seconds to go. Following a 3-pointer from Imani Wheeler that made a two-possession game, SNHU went 3-for-4 at the line down the stretch to seal it.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Wheeler led all scorers with 18 points (8-14 FG, 2-5 3-FG), while Jessica Fressle added 17 (7-17 FG, 1-7 3-FG, 2-2 FT).
- The Penmen outshot the Owls, 44.6 percent (29-65) to 42 percent (29-69), including 30.8 percent (8-26) to 21.9 percent (7-32) from beyond the arc.
- SNHU also doubled-up SCSU from the stripe, despite being outshot, 80 percent (8-10) to 69.6 percent (16-23).
- The Penmen captured the paint (40-28), collected more points off turnovers (13-6), off the fast break (14-6), from their bench (16-6) and second chance points (15-11), and put together a slightly better assist-to-turnover ratio (13/10-14/12). Rebounding was even (40-40).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire wins for the second time in three games, while Southern Connecticut drops its fifth straight.
- SNHU trails in the all-time series with the Owls, 39-27, despite having won three of the last four meetings, as well as two of the last three on the road.
