Freshman Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) scored 16 points off the bench, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team sputtered in a 60-49 defeat against the University of New Haven on Tuesday evening at the Stan Spirou Field House.

KEY MOMENTS
- New Haven led, 27-23, just over a minute into the second half when Camryn DeBose scored 11 points to power a 13-3 run that ballooned the lead to 40-26 at the midway point of the third quarter. The margin would not fall below 10 digits the rest of the way.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Camryn DeBose led New Haven with a game-high 19 points (7-13 FG, 5-6 3-FG).
- The Chargers outshot the Penmen, 44.4 percent (24-54) to 28.8 percent (17-59), including 44.4 percent (8-18) to 23.3 percent (7-30).
- SNHU was plus-4 from the line, despite being outshot, 80 percent (4-5) to 66.7 percent (8-12).
- The Penmen received more scoring from their bench (22-3), while the Chargers captured the glass (37-35) and the paint (22-20), gathered more second chance points (5-1) and fastbreak points (12-11), in addition to producing a more impressive assist-to-turnover ratio (13/14-9/12). Points off turnovers were even (15-15).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire sees its two-game winning streak halted, as it loses for just the third time in the last seven contests. New Haven snaps a three-game skid.
- New Haven, which leads the all-time series with SNHU, 37-22, has now won three straight meetings.
- The 49 points were the fewest as a team for the Penmen since Feb. 20, 2018 when they dropped a 56-49 decision to Merrimack College. The 49 were also the fewest at home since a 63-46 loss to Adelphi University on Jan. 14, 2017.
