MANSFIELD, Mass. –Graduate student Ashley Elder (Bristol, Conn.) was named the NE10 Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, three days after winning another shot put event at Plymouth State University.
Elder's throw of 13.83m (45' 4.5") won the Panther Invitational at Plymouth State on Saturday. It was the fourth win for Elder in the event this indoor season. She's already met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard for the shot put at two other meets. The NCAA Division II National Indoor Championships are scheduled for next month in Birmingham, Ala.
The SNHU Women's Track & Field team won the Panther Invitational, and returns to action on Friday at BU's David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
