MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week for the period ending Feb. 2, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Timberlake averaged 13.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field (10-20), including 50 percent from beyond the arc (5-10), during an 0-2 week for the Penmen. Timberlake led the way with 16 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 3-FG, 2-4 FT) and three rebounds in Tuesday's 60-49 loss to the University of New Haven, before adding 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-5 3-FG) and three boards in a 64-53 defeat versus Pace University on Saturday.
Through 19 games, Timberlake is producing 9.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, while shooting 44 percent from the floor, 39 percent from long range and 76 percent from the stripe. She ranks ninth in the league in 3-point field goal percentage.
Timberlake and the Penmen return to action Tuesday (Feb. 4) at 5:30 p.m. when they take on in-state rival Franklin Pierce University.
