SNHU continued its Florida trip on Sunday, falling 3-2 to Minnesota-Duluth and 2-1 to Ashland University. 

KEY MOMENTS - GAME 1
  • Senior Maddy Barone (Halifax, Mass.) went the distance in this one, allowing three runs on four hits.  She suffered her first loss to fall to 3-1 on the season.
  • Maddy also reached on an error as the two Penmen runs scored in the bottom of the sixth inning after the Bulldogs had taken a 3-0 lead.
  • Junior Emily Critch (Halifax, Mass.) singled to start the inning and sophomore Chloe Griffin (Scarborough, Maine) followed with a double.   They both scored on the error.
  • Sophomore Emily Carbonneau (Lowell, Mass.) followed with a single, but the Penmen couldn't get the tying run across.
KEY MOMENTS - GAME 2
  • Junior Olivia Strasser (Rutland, Mass.) made the start against Ashland.
  • Griffin reached on a single and error in the first, and scored the Penmen run on a single to center by Barone.
  • The Eagles took the lead in the third inning, with no scoring the remainder of the game.
NOTES
  • SNHU is now 3-3 on the Florida trip.   
  • The Penmen had scored a 3-1 win over Minnesota-Duluth last season in Florida.  
  • Southern New Hampshire is now 1-2 all-time against both the Bulldogs and the Eagles.
UP NEXT
  • The Penmen return to action on Tuesday, March 10.  SNHU will open its NE10 season with a doubleheader against Le Moyne College in Auburndale, Fla.
