Meg Knollmeyer (Hampton, N.H.) scored a season-high 22 points to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team to an 89-71 triumph against Felician University on Saturday afternoon at the Stan Spirou Field House.

- Graduate student Gyanna Russell (E. Hampton, Conn.) – 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-1 3-FG, 1-2 FT), 6 rebounds
KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed by three early before an 18-4 burst – with six points from junior Ariana Koivisto (Pomfret, Conn.) and five from Knollmeyer – made it 20-9 with less than two minutes to go in the opening quarter. The lead was 22-13 at the end of one.
- It was an eight-point game more than three minutes into the second quarter when a 14-1 rush expanded the Penmen advantage to 43-22 with 3:30 to play. Ziliak powered the stretch with a trio of 3-pointers. Felician would hit back with a 13-4 counter-run and trimmed its halftime deficit to 49-37.
- That was as close as the visitors would get, as a 14-5 run – sparked by a Russell triple and capped by one from junior Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) – nudged the lead back to 71-49 with 1:58 left in the third. SNHU was up, 73-54, going to the final frame.
- Five straight points from Knollmeyer started a 7-1 run that was finished off by a bucket from sophomore Julia Colby (So. Parris, Maine) that gave the Penmen their largest lead of the afternoon at 84-60 with 4:58 on the clock.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Koivisto posted nine points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3-FG, 1-1 FT), six boards and three helpers.
- Timberlake tallied nine points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3-FG), two rebounds and two assists.
- Colby netted a career-best nine points (4-11 FG, 1-2 3-FG) and handed out a pair of assists.
- Sophomore Jessica Knight (Hanover, Mass.) registered eight points (4-10 FG), seven boards, three assists and two blocks.
- Senior Jenna Roche (Braintree, Mass.) added four points (2-6 FG), six rebounds and six assists.
- SNHU outshot Felician, 50 percent (37-74) to 38.5 percent (25-65), while Felician returned the favor from beyond the arc, 47.1 percent (8-17) to 32.1 percent (9-28)
- Felician was also plus-7 at the line and shot it better, 68.4 percent (13-19) to 60 percent (6-10).
- The Penmen won the glass (45-36), dominated the paint (50-26), featured a better assist-to-turnover ratio (24/15-7/15), scored more points on the fast break (28-5) and more second chance points (22-12), and received more scoring from their bench (28-23), while the Golden Falcons narrowly scored more points off turnovers (19-18).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, which has now won six-in-a-row, is off to its best start since it also began the 2015-16 season 8-1.
- The six-game winning streak for the Penmen is their longest since recording six consecutive victories to begin the 2018-19 campaign.
- SNHU improves to 10-1 all-time against Felician and has captured nine-in-a-row, including seven straight at home.
- The 50 percent shooting mark for the Penmen is their best since shooting 57.4 percent (29-53) in a 91-50 win against the College of Staten Island on Nov. 17, 2019. It is also the first time since at least 2010-11 SNHU has shot 50 percent or better from the floor on 70 or more field goal attempts.
- After averaging 4.0 points and 3.2 rebounds in 9.0 minutes per game over her first six collegiate contests, Knight is posting 12.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in 22.0 minutes over her last three outings.
- Russell is the only Penmen to have scored in double figures in all nine games this season.

- The Penmen return to action Friday, Dec. 17 (7 p.m.) when they take on Saint Leo University in the first of two games at Saint Leo.
