Men's Lacrosse Rallies In Fourth Quarter To Stun Franklin Pierce In Opener, 16-15

Senior Stephen Dubois (Goffstown, N.H.) scored a career-best five goals and graduate transfer David Wiedenfeld (Londonderry, N.H.) tallied his fourth goal of the game with 13 seconds remaining to lift the Penmen to a 16-15 win at Franklin Pierce in the season opener Saturday.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Dubois scored the first goal of the season for the Penmen with 9:12 left in the first period to tie the game at 1-1.
  • The Penmen trailed 10-4 early in the third quarter on Conor Rooney's third goal of the game for the Ravens.
  • SNHU would forge to its first lead of the day at 15-14 with 2:53 to play when Jacobsen buried his attempt off a pass from Wiedenfeld.
  • Sean Daly tied it for Franklin Pierce at 15-15 with 1:42 remaining.
  • Wiedenfeld's game-winner, his third goal of the final period, came off a scrum in front of the Raven net with 13 seconds left.
  • Franklin Pierce had a final shot of the contest in the final seconds, but Josh Dorr's attempt went wide.

  • The Penmen snapped a two-game losing streak in openers.

  • The five goals scored by Dubois in a game are his career-high.  He had tallied four goals in a game twice, including in the 2020 opener at Georgian Court.
