(Colchester, Vt.) - Senior Cole Jacobsen (Dartmouth, Mass.) scored three times and added an assist, but SNHU fell 17-14 at Saint Michael's College on Saturday.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
KEY MOMENTS
  • The Penmen had a crisp start, scoring twice in the first three minutes.  Valentine notched his first goal of the season and junior Jackson Hounchell (Middlebury, Vermont) scored for the third time.
  • Saint Michael's scored the next four goals before Terrones found the net with just 3.5 seconds left to close the first, trailing 4-3.
  • Second-quarter goals by Jacobsen, Terrones and Dubois all came in man-up situations as SNHU trailed 7-6 at halftime.
  • SNHU would tie the contest at 8-8 on Valentine's second goal at 11:17 of the third quarter, but the Purple Knights outscored the Penmen 5-0 the rest of the quarter.
  • The Penmen rallied to 13-12 and 16-14 on Jacobsen goals in the fourth quarter, but could not get past Saint Michael's.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Southern New Hampshire was outshot by Saint Michael's 45-35.  SNHU had 31 turnovers compared to 24 for the Hawks.
  • Junior Owen McCuin (Hinesburg, Vt.) scored his fifth career goal, and first of the season, playing in his home state.
  • Freshman Cam Cote (Saco, Maine) scored his first career goal at 5:05 of the fourth quarter.
  • The Penmen converted four-of-six man-up opportunities, all in the first half.
NOTES
  • The Penmen had won four straight against the Purple Knights.  Saint Michael's leads the all-time series 27-11.
  • The teams are scheduled to meet again on April 21 at Penmen Stadium.
  • With 12 goals in the three Penmen contests, Dubois leads the Northeast-10.  Terrones is tied for third in the NE10 with nine goals.
