Junior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) blistered the Derryfield Country Club course for a two-round score of 6-under 134 Wednesday, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team defeated Saint Michael's College, 573-602.
INDIVIDUAL SCORERS
- Conti, who was named the NE10 Player of the Week earlier in the day, turned in match rounds of 3-under 67 to win by nine strokes.
- Freshman AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), who was chosen as the NE10 Rookie of the Week, had his highest finish thus far, finishing second with a 3-over 143. Cavotta carded a 1-under 69 in the first round and followed it up with a 74 in the windier second round.
- Freshman Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.) placed fourth with a 147, as he penciled in a 73 in the first round and and a 74 in the second 18.
- Sophomore Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) was sixth with a two-round total of 149 (73/76).
NOTES
- SNHU has now won all three of the events it has played in so far this season.
- Conti picks up his second win of the year to go with a runner-up performance.
