Junior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) carded a 4-over 146 Tuesday at Sandwich Hollows Golf Club, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team finished third at the Bentley Spring Invitational.

INDIVIDUAL SCORERS

• Conti finished in a tie for second, just one shot back of the winner, as he fired a 1-over 72 in the opening round and followed it up with a 74.
• Freshman AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was fourth with a 6-over 148, shooting a 77 the first time through before turning in the second best round of the day with a 71 over the final 18.
• Sophomore Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) tied for 19th with a 161 (79/82).
• Freshman Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.) rounded out the Penmen scorers with a 166 (84/82).

NOTES

• SNHU had won all three of the events it had played in prior to the Bentley Spring Invite.
• Bentley captured the event with a 605, which was 13 strokes ahead of Franklin Pierce University.
• Bentley's Tommy Ethier won individual medalist honors with a 3-over 145, which included the best round of the day - a 69 in the opening round.
• The Bentley Spring Invitational was comprised of 39 golfers from eight different institutions.
• Conti now has two wins and a pair of runner-up performances in the four events this season.
