Freshman Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.) submitted a two-round total of 151, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team finished fifth at the Saint Anselm Spring Invitational on Friday at The Oaks Golf Links.

INDIVIDUAL SCORERS

• Tufts tied for seventh and was eight shots back of the leader. He shot a 73 that had him tied for third following the first round, before adding a 78 in the second round.
• Freshman AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was just behind in ninth with a 152. He rebounded from an opening-round 83 to fire a 2-under 69 over the final 18, which was the best round of the day.
• Junior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) turned in a 158, which included a second-round 77, following an 81 in the first round.
• Sophomore Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) rounded out the Penmen scorers with a 163 (83/80).

NOTES

• SNHU's 304 tied for the best second-round score.
• Assumption University captured the event with a 603, which was nine strokes ahead of Bentley University.
• Assumption's Ryan Fillebrown won individual medalist honors with a 1-over 143, which was four strokes ahead of three golfers that tied for second.
• The Saint Anselm Spring Invitational was comprised of 35 golfers from seven different institutions.

• The Penmen return to the links Tuesday, April 20 when they tee it up at the Northeast-10 Championship, which takes place at Springfield (Mass.) Country Club.
