AMHERST, Mass. – Sophomore faceoff specialist Gennaro Marra (Hampstead, N.H.) was named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England First Team. Four others were named to the All-New England Second Team Wednesday.
The NEILA honored graduate student David Wiedenfeld (Londonderry, N.H.) and freshman Jack Terrones (Anaheim, Calif.) as attackers, senior midfielder Stephen Dubois (Goffstown), and graduate student Nolan Isabella (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) on defense on the Second Team.
Marra, who was also named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team, won 180 of 304 faceoffs (.592) during the 2021 season.
Wiedenfeld concluded his first season at SNHU with 46 points, good for second place in the NE10. He scored 23 goals and added 23 assists. Terrones tied for the team lead with 26 goals scored, which ranked tied for fifth in the conference. Dubois tallied 22 goals and nine assists, and Isabella tallied 38 ground balls in his ten games, providing solid leadership on defense this season. Wiedenfeld and Dubois were also both members of the NE-10 Third-Team All-Conference and Terrones had been named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.
SNHU finished the season at 6-6, advancing to the Northeast-10 Championship quarterfinals before falling at #7 Adelphi 12-9 on May 1. The Penmen were ranked third in the final NEILA Division II poll.
