(Hooksett, N.H.) - Senior Chloe Griffin (Scarborough, Maine) drove in the game's only run with a single in the bottom of the seventh inning and senior Olivia Strasser (Rutland, Mass.) tossed the shutout as SNHU defeated Bentley 1-0 in the Divisional First Round of the NE10 Championship on Tuesday.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Griffin singled in the bottom of the first inning, and freshman Shannon Gifford (Goffstown, N.H.) followed with a deep fly to left that Bentley's Stacey Korotsky reached over the wall to catch.
  • The Falcons threatened in the top of the second inning, but as Noa Rivera drew a two-out walk, senior Emily Critch (Halifax, Mass.) rifled a throw to third to pick off Kaylee Mankins and end the inning.
  • In the last of the second inning, junior Emily Carbonneau (Lowell, Mass.) was thrown out trying to score from second on a single to right by freshman Alyssa Dimauro (Chester, N.H.), as the game stayed scoreless.
  • Bentley started its seventh inning with a single by Sabrina Grizzaffi and a bunt by Sam Petow.  Noa Rivera beat out her bunt to put two on base.  A pair of defensive gems by Gifford on grounders to third base ended the threat.
  • In the bottom of the seventh inning, sophomore Bryn Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) led off with a single, and advanced to third as Dimauro reached on an errant throw to first on her bunt.  Griffin singled to win the game.
