Sophomore Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) shot a 76, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team opened the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional by finishing 15th at Lake View Country Club on Thursday.

INDIVIDUAL SCORERS

• Mscisz is tied for 20th and is four shots back of the lead.
• Freshman AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) carded an 80.
• Junior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) and freshman Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.) rounded out the Penmen scorers by each submitting an 84.

NOTES

• Redshirt-sophomore Andrew Tache (Northborough, Mass.) did not factor into the scoring with a 106.
• SNHU is making its 10th regional appearance, including its seventh straight.
• The top four teams and top individual not on an advancing team move on to the NCAA National Championship.
• St. Thomas Aquinas College is in first place after the opeming day, as its 296 is one stroke ahead of Gannon University and two shots better than Davis & Elkins College.
• Davis & Elkins' Sean Addie is the individual leader after 18 holes. His 72 is one shot better than a group of six golfers that penciled in a 73.
• The NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship is comprised of 85 golfers from 22 different institutions.
