Stroh Doubles Up As Penmen Compete At Husky Invitational In Maine

Alula, Hallet, and Coakley Also Record SNHU Wins Sunday

(Gorham, Maine) -  Senior Meghan Stroh (New Fairfield, Conn.) doubled up with wins in the 200m and 600m and graduate student Maura Coakley (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), sophomore Emma Hallet (Billerica, Mass.), junior Madison McMahon (East Longmeadow, Mass.), and senior Bennie Alula (Hartford, Conn.) also won events as SNHU Indoor Track & Field competed at Southern Maine's Husky Invitational Sunday.

TOP PERFORMERS
  • Stroh ran a season and career-best 1:42.01 to win the 600m after claiming the 200m in a season-best 26.68.
  • Coakley won the 5,000m in 19:17.92.
  • Hallet added a win in the 55 hurdles (9.05) and a fifth-place finish in the high jump (1.51m).  It was a busy day for Hallet, who also competed in the shot put, long jump, 200m, and a 4x4 relay, setting PR's in the shot and 200m.
  • Alula took the title in the weight throw with a 14.84m toss.  She also finished third in the shot put in 11.34m.
  • McMahon won the high jump with a 1.56m performance.
NOTES
  • SNHU's Indoor Track & Field team is ranked second in the East Region by the USTFCCCA Regional in the first rankings released last Monday, 1/24.
  • There was no team scoring at the meet, which was rescheduled from Saturday due to the winter storm.

  •  The New England Championships are scheduled for next Friday and Saturday (2/4 and 2/5) at the Reggie Lewis Athletic Center in Boston ,Mass.
