Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) won the Adelphi Short Course Showdown, and the Penmen finished as the top team with seven runners in the top 20 on Friday.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Corcoran ran the 5k in 18:03.4, finishing 27 seconds ahead of the second-place runner - the time was the second-fastest in program history behind only her 17:56.6 earlier this season.
- Junior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) with 18:59.0, good for 4th place.
- Junior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) wound up in sixth place at 19:09.6.
- Junior Hannah Bradbury (Seekonk, Mass.) finished seventh in 19:14.5.
- Senior Sarah Zarakotas (Deerfield, N.H.) gave the Penmen five in the top 10, finishing tenth in 19:40.1.
- Graduate student Rose Pitman (Sherill, N.Y.) was next in 11th place at 19:45.3.
- Junior Riley McDermott (Kennebunkport, Maine) wound up 20th in 20:26.4.
- Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) was the top freshman in the field, finishing 23rd in 20:36. Â
NOTES
- The Short Course Showdown was contested at 5k (3.11 miles).Â
- Adelphi hosted the Friday event---and this course will also be utilized for the NCAA East Regional on Sat. Nov. 19.
- Adelphi (65) finished second and Saint Thomas Aquinas (103) was third.
- SNHU entered the meet as the USTFCCCA top ranked team in the East Region, and receiving votes in the weekly national poll.
- Newcomer Emily Charest (Methuen, Mass.) set a new PR on Friday with a 21:46.8, she finished in 38th place overall.

- SNHU will next compete at the Northeast-10 Championships on Sunday, Nov. 6 at Saint Michael's College.
