Obernesser Leads Penmen at NCAA East Regional

Senior caps strong season with 10th-place finish, 3rd consecutive All-East Region honors

The Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team wrapped up its 2025 season Saturday at the NCAA East Regional Championship, held at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H. The Penmen had four runners complete the 6-kilometer course and did not register a team score.

KEY MOMENT

  • Senior Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) capped an outstanding season, placing 10th overall in 22:41.46.  It was a season-best mark, and led Obernesser to her third consecutive East All-Region honor.

NOTES

  • Junior Kora Hay (Coventry, R.I.) crossed next in 24:00.57, good for 33rd overall, a new PR
  • Junior Natalie Sicard (Nottingham, N.H.) also ran a personal best at 25:09.16 to take 57th.
  • Freshman Faith Perry (Pawtucket, R.I.) closed out the SNHU contingent in 26:08.85, finishing 75th.
  • Sophomore Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) did not finish.
  • Courtney Henchcliffe of Southern Connecticut State won the race in 21:29.09, and the Owls edged Roberts Wesleyan as both programs advance to the National Championships
