(Boston, Mass.) - Senior Meghan Stroh (New Fairfield, Conn.) and graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) each set new SNHU program records at Friday's David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston. Stroh's record run came in the 200m race. Corcoran broke her own school record in the 3000m event.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Against top competition, Corcoran finished up the 3000m race in 9:37.55, more than seven seconds faster than she ran the distance two years ago in Boston.
- Stroh's time of 25.41 is the fastest in program history for 200m.
- In addition to Stroh, four others set new personal bests in the race - sophomore Ava Gravell (Windham, N.H.), sophomore Emma Hallet (Billerica, Mass.), sophomore Sydney Eccleston (Swanzey, N.H.), and graduate student Olivia Coco (Bedford, N.H.).
- Hallet added a new PR in the 60m high hurdles (9.99), and Eccleston and Coco both ran to new bests in the 400m on Friday.
- New marks were set by sophomore Hannah Bradbury (Seekonk, Mass.) in the 800m and by sophomore Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) in the mile run.
- Sophomore Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) and junior Sarah Zarakotas (Deerfield, N.H.) both turned in PR's in the 5,000m event.
NOTES
- The Penmen, ranked second in the East Region by the USTFCCCA, will compete in the Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Championships on February 24-25 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
