Corcoran Named NE10 Track Athlete of the Week

Graduate Student Ran Record-Setting Mile In Boston

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was named Northeast-10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

Corcoran ran the fastest mile in SNHU program history in 4:51.44 at the NEICAAA New England Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center on Saturday.  It was the 17th fastest in NCAA Division II this season.   She finished third overall to a pair of Div. I runners.

Up next for the Penmen is a return trip to Boston University to compete at Friday's David Hemery Valentine Invitational.  That's the last scheduled meet before the Northeast-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 24-25.  SNHU is currently the second-ranked team in the East Region, according to the USTFCCCA poll.
