MANSFIELD, Mass. - Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was named as the NE10 Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, it was announced on Thursday.
Two weeks ago, at the Northeast-10 Championships in Boston, Corcoran competed in four events, winning them all. She won the mile, 3000m, and 5000m races, and was a member of the winning DMR team that SNHU entered. Corcoran was named Track Athlete of the Meet by the Northeast-10.
Corcoran will compete tomorrow (Friday, March 11) in the mile run at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas. The preliminary race is scheduled for about 4:45 p.m. Eastern time.
Corcoran ran the fastest mile in program history, 4:51.44, at the New England Championships last month. That time, 25th best in the nation this season, qualified her for the NCAA Championships.
