Corcoran Advances to Steeplechase Final at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Meet

SNHU Graduate Student Finishes Fourth In Second Heat Thursday

What:  2022 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships

(Allendale, Mich.) -Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) has advanced to the 3,000m Steeplechase Finals by finishing fourth in the second heat of Thursday night's qualifier at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Allendale, Mich.
 

  • Corcoran ran 10:32.55 for the event, which was a little over five seconds behind heat winner Eleonora Curtabbi of West Texas A&M.
  • The fastest time of the night went to Alexa Leppelmeier of Walsh University, in 10:24.57.
  • Corcoran had won four consecutive 3000m Steeplechase races during this outdoor season, with a PR of 10:23.96 at a meet at the University of Connecticut.

  • The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships continue Friday.  The 3,000m Steeplechase final is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
  • Grand Valley State University is host for the event, along with the West Michigan Sports Commission.
