Junior Mike LaRocca (Vero Beach, Fla.) went 3-for-3 and senior Jeffrey Praml (Bridgewater, N.J.) allowed two runs over six innings, but the No.6/9 Southern New Hampshire University baseball team fell in the final game of a three-game set with East Stroudsburg University, 3-0, Monday afternoon at Creekview Park.

KEY MOMENTS
  • East Stroudsburg jumped on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Cameron Hubbard drew a two-out walk, stole second and scored on an RBI single from Jack Rothenhausler.
  • Another walk and a steal led to ESU's second run on a sacrifice fly in the third.
  • The Warriors added another run in the seventh on a bases-loaded walk.

  • Junior Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.) and sophomore Gabe Passey (Moses Lake, Wash.) were both 1-for-3.
  • Junior Nick Schwartz (Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) each finished 1-for-4.
  • Junior Trevor Anibal (Bedford, N.H.) gave up a run on one hit and three walks in a third of an inning.
  • Freshman Frankie DeMaro (Newburgh, N.Y.) struck out one over a perfect inning-and-two-thirds.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, ranked sixth in the Collegiate Baseball Pre-Season NCAA Division II Poll and ninth in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division II Top 25, loses three straight for the first time since being swept by second-ranked Colorado Mesa University on Feb. 14-16, 2020.
  • The Penmen are now 2-4 all-time against East Stroudsburg.
  • The Warriors have won 10 straight games, all over Northeast-10 competition. East Stroudsburg opened the streak with a four-game sweep of the College of Saint Rose before taking three games from Saint Anselm College. The Warriors went 41-20 last season, advancing to the NCAA Super Regional before falling to West Chester in three games.
  • ESU is the number three team in the latest NCWBA Atlantic Region Poll, and is receiving votes in the NCBWA Top 25.
