MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior Casey Cumiskey (Milltown, N.J.) of the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team was twice crowned an All-American late last week. Cumiskey was selected as an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-America Third Team honoree Friday, after being named a Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-America Honorable Mention on Thursday.
Cumiskey is SNHU's ninth ABCA All-American and third in the last four years, after Nick Schwartz and Jorge Burgos also made the Third Team in 2023 and 2024, respectively. He is the program's 11th D2CCA All-American and first since Schwartz (Second Team) and Jeffrey Praml (Third Team) in 2023.
Cumiskey, who adds to his list of 2026 accolades that include ABCA East All-Region First Team, D2CCA East All-Region First Team, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East All-Region First Team, NE10 All-Conference First Team and NE10 All-Defensive Team honors at shortstop, finished the year batting .362 (71-196) with 20 home runs, 69 RBI, 64 runs scored and 16 stolen bases, while slashing .445/.745/1.190. Cumiskey made 13 errors in 243 chances at short for a .947 fielding percentage. The two-time NE10 Player of the Week (March 9, April 6) ranked second in the East Region in home runs, fourth in RBI and slugging percentage, 1th in runs, 16th in hits and doubles. Nationally, he was 14th in home runs, 32nd in RBI, 34th in slugging and 72nd in runs scored. Cumiskey's 20 long-balls set a new single-season record for the Penmen, while the 69 RBI were third and the 64 runs were 10th.
The Penmen finished 41-14, including 30-6 in the NE10 to win the regular-season title and claim the top seed, before falling in the NE10 finals. SNHU then earned its 13th NCAA tournament berth, receiving the East Region's No. 3 seed, but went 1-2 in the East Regional II pod to fall a game short of the final.
