NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team was recognized for its work in the classroom Wednesday by being named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Academic Honor Squad for the third straight season.
The Penmen were one of 287 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA, including 57 from DII, to qualify for the honor, which is given to teams that posted a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher during the 2022-23 academic year. SNHU how now earned the honor seven times since 2014.
Additionally, five members of the team received IWLCA Academic Honor Roll accolades for being a junior, senior or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater. Seniors
Courtney Cronin (Woburn, Mass.),
Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) and
Sydney Todd (Pelham, N.H.) garner the honor for the second straight year, while junior
Alexis DeLucia (Uncasville, Conn.) and
Layne Walther (Center Moriches, N.Y.) collect the award for the first time. They were five of 414 DII student-athletes to capture the recognition.
