MANSFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student Skylar Pietz (Dudley, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team was chosen as the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, for the period ending April 27.

Pietz caused five turnovers and collected four ground balls, as SNHU rallied for a 17-11 victory at Saint Michael's College on Tuesday to grab the final NE10 Championship spot. The Penmen trailed, 10-4, at halftime, and limited the Purple Knights to just one goal and six total shots after halftime. Pietz, who added three goals on the offensive end, had three of her caused turnovers in the fourth quarter.

Pietz, who started all 17 games this season, led the team with 24 caused turnovers and 32 ground balls, ranking sixth and 11th, respectively, in the NE10. Pietz also ranked fourth on the team in goals (24) and points (28).

Pietz and the Penmen (7-10, 3-7 NE10) had their season ended Saturday with an NE10 Championship quarterfinal loss at ninth-ranked and top-seeded Pace University.
