Women's Cross Country Runs In Boston

Kaitlyn O'Rourke Is SNHU's Top Finisher Friday

Distance:  Women's race, 5K
Results: Southern New Hampshire University – 15th/16

The Southern New Hampshire women's cross country team tackled a strong field on Friday, running at the Boston College Battle In Beantown at a muddy Franklin Park.  Senior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) was the top finisher for the Penmen.

TOP PERFORMANCES
  • O'Rourke ran 18:59.6 to finish 100th.
  • Sophomore Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) was next with a 19:37.1 to finish 117th.
  • Senior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) ran a 19:48.0 to finish up in 120th place.
  • Freshman Kora Hay (Conventry, R.I.) had a time of 20:25.3 to wind up 133th.
  • Senior Hannah Bradbury (Seekonk, Mass.) was 137th in 20:38.
NOTES
  • Women's Cross Country was ranked third in the East Region in this week's USTFCCCA poll.
  • The Penmen were competing on the prestigious Franklin Park course against Division I competition.  
  • Harvard beat Penn to claim the team title - Harvard also won the men's race.
  • SNHU freshman Deirdre Bailat (Billerica, Mass.) turned in a PR in 22:00.2.

  • The Penmen will next compete at the Hopkinton (N.H.) Fairgrounds for the Franklin Pierce Bruce Kirsh race on October 13.
  • The Northeast-10 Championships are on October 22 in Westfield, Mass.
