The Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team battled a deep field of New England programs Friday afternoon, placing 19th overall at the 2025 NEICAAA Championships held at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
KEY MOMENT
- Facing off against Division I, II, and III competition, the Penmen totaled 576 points to finish ahead of regional rivals Wheaton and Southern Maine, while closing in on Saint Anselm and Vermont. Providence captured the team title with 67 points.
NOTES
- Senior Corinna Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) paced SNHU with a strong run of 19:05.31, placing 60th overall and leading the Penmen pack.
- Sophomore Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) was next across the line, finishing 147th in 20:07.06.
- Freshman Faith Perry (Pawtucket, R.I.) continued her steady debut campaign, clocking 20:44.60 for 194th place.
- Junior Natalie Sicard (Nottingham, N.H.) finished in 20:56.65 (205th), with junior Deirdre Bailat (North Billerica, Mass.) right behind in 21:52.35 (234th) to round out the scoring five.
- Junior Kora Hay (Coventry, R.I.) posted a solid 21:56.78 (237th).
- The Penmen averaged 20:34 per runner over the 5K course.
- A total of 281 runners competed in the race, which featured top programs from all divisions throughout New England.
