SNHU Women's Cross Country ran to a sixth-place finish and junior
Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) was the top runner for the Penmen at Friday's Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup at the Hopkinton (N.H.) Fairgrounds.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Obernesser was 24th overall (123 runners) with a time of 23:47.93.
- Sophomore Deirdre Bailat (North Billerica, Mass.) came in at 23:58.94 for 28th place.
- Freshman Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) ran the 8k in 24:24.77 in her first collegiate try at the distance.
- Freshman Kelsey Maine (Campton, N.H.) was next at 25:15.17.
- Junior Jia Anderson-Salo (Alstead, N.H.) finished just ahead of freshman teammate Ari Hettrick-Rivera (East Hampton, Conn.) with both runners earning new personal marks.
- Anderson-Salo was 56th at 26:08.50 and Hettrick-Rivera came in at 26:13.32 in 57th.
NOTES
- Runners from 19 programs competed in the women's race with the University of Connecticut earning top honors with a 1-2-3 finish. The University of Maine and UMass Amherst finished second and third in the team standings.
- Among Division II programs, Southern Connecticut State was fourth (113 points), followed by Saint Michael's College (157 points), and SNHU (158 points).

- The Northeast-10 Championships will be conducted in 2024 at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds on Sunday, October 27. The women's race is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
