Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) set a new program record at 60m, and Senior
Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) was named Co-Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet as SNHU wound up in third place at the Northeast-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Sinclair turned in a 4th place finish in the 60m, but her time was 7.91 seconds – a new personal mark and a new program mark for SNHU.
- Bunnitt followed up her career- mark winning the weight throw with a second-place finish on Saturday in the shot put (11.98m).
- Sophomore Brooke Bibbo (Burlington, Mass.) was fifth in the shot put at 11.36m.
- Senior Emma Hallet (Billerica, Mass.) and senior Theresa Irving (Penacook, N.H.) tied for second place in the high jump competition at 1.52m.
- The Penmen turned in a third-place finish in the 4x800 relay with senior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.), freshman Aveline McCabe (White Bear Lake, Minn.), senior Hannah Bradbury (Seekonk, Mass.) and sophomore Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) running to at 10:07.83.
- Senior Ava Gravell (Windham, N.H.) came in fourth in the 400m on Saturday at 58.57. She also ran the 4x400 relay which finished in sixth with sophomore Anne Sikkema (Leeuwarden, Netherlands), sophomore Maggie McInerney (Acton, Mass.), and Sinclair.
- Bradbury was seventh in the 800m (2:24.61) and McInerney finished eighth in the 400m (1:00.65).
- Senior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) ran fifth in the 3000m with sophomore Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) right behind in sixth place.
- Senior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) turned in a sixth-place finish in the mile race at 5:25.43.
NOTES
- Kelsey Seamans won the Elite 24 Award for the second consecutive time at the Indoor Track & Field Championships for having the best grade point average at the competition.
- Southern Connecticut State University (201.75) won the Northeast-10 Championship over Adelphi (124) and SNHU (103). New Haven (70.75) edged Saint Anselm (68.75) for fourth place.
- SNHU earns two Queen City Cup points by finishing ahead of Saint Anselm in the competition.
- The Penmen were the defending champions, having won the Indoor Championships for the first time last season.
