Kelsey Seamans Runs Third In 5000

SNHU Women's Track & Field hit the road for the first time during the 2024 outdoor season, meeting up with many Division programs at the George Davis Invitational Saturday hosted by UMass-Lowell.

TOP PERFORMANCES
  • Senior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) finished third in the 5,000m run in 18:19.53.  The time was a season mark and her best since finishing second at the 2023 George Davis in the 5000.
  • Freshman Deirdre Bailat (Billerica, Mass.) wound up sixth in the 5000 with a new personal best of 18:23.01.
  • Freshman Kayla Franks (Derry, N.H.) wound up sixth in the javelin with a new PR of 40.55m.
  • Senior Tori Limone (Stoneham, Mass.) was ninth in the javelin (36.07m).
  • Junior Morgan Cooledge (Westbrook, Maine) put up a personal best in the javelin while finishing 10th at 35.87m.
  • Freshman Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) was 6th in the 100 hurdles at 16.09. 
  • Senior Emma Hallet (Billerica, Mass.) came in 7th in the 100 hurdles at 16.37.
  • Sophomore Maggie McInerney (Acton, Mass.) had a 6th-place finish in the 400H at 1:09.19.
  • Sophomore Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) led SNHU in the 1500 with a 25th-place finish in 4:57.14.  It was the first time she had tried the distance.
  • Sophomore Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) turned in a personal best in the 1500 at 5:07.34. 
  • Graduate student Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) finished 8th in the shot put (11.54m), 12th in the discus (34.01m), and 15th in the hammer throw (37.85m)

  • There was no team scoring for the meet.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The next meet for the Penmen will be next Saturday, April 27 at the University of New Hampshire. 
  • The Northeast-10 Championships are at Southern Connecticut May 3-4.
