Maggie McInerney Records Four Wins at Plymouth Meet

SNHU Track & Field Finishes Second Saturday

When and Where: January 18, 2025-  ALLWell North, Plymouth, N.H. - Plymouth State University Panther Invitational I
Results:  2nd of 6 (131 points)

Junior Maggie McInerney (Acton, Mass.) recorded four wins, three individual and one relay as SNHU Indoor Track & Field competed Saturday at Plymouth State's Panther Invitational 1.
McInerney won the 200m, high jump, and long jump and was a part of SNHU's winning 4x200 relay.

HIGHLIGHTS
•    Keene State (137.5) edged out the Penmen (131) for the meet title.  

NOTES

•    McInerney's long jump of 5.33m was her career best and just short of Ava Gravell's program mark of 5.40m.
•    Freshman Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) won the 600m race in 1:43.57 and SNHU completed a sweep of the top three with junior Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) in second with a new PR of 1:44.72 and freshman Hope Hanafin (Burlington, Mass.) in third at 1:46.87.
•    Graduate student Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) won the weight throw competition, besting 20 other athletes with a 14.66m mark.  She also finished fourth in the shot put at 11.14m.
•    Freshman Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) was third in the 60m final and she finished in second in the 200m.
•    SNHU relay teams earned wins in the 4x200m and 4000m DMR.  
•    Junior Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) joined Paige McInerney, Wiersma, and Hanafin for the DMR relay win and Maggie McInerney was on the 4x2 team with senior Tori Allen (Litchfield, N.H.), sophomore Madison Lyons (Mansfield, Conn.), and Sippel.
•    Lyons recorded new personal best marks in the high jump (1.36m), long jump (5.11m) and shot put on Saturday.
•    Sophomore Kay Wheelock (Milford, Mass.) competed for the first time with the Penmen, running the 60m in her debut.

WHAT'S NEXT
•     The Penmen are expected to send athletes to meets at UMass Lowell and the University of Southern Maine next Saturday, January 25.
