NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore
Vicente Preto (Sesimbra, Portugal) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was selected as the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 12, the league office announced Tuesday.
Preto went 2-0 in SNHU's 5-2 win at Saint Michael's College on Sunday. He improved to a perfect 5-0 with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Viktor Boban at No. 1 singles and also teamed with
Albert Modol to double up Boban and Garrett Brooker, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles.
Preto is 7-1 in singles play this season, including 5-0 in dual matches and 4-0 in NE10 play. He is also 3-4 in doubles, including 2-2 in the league.
Preto and the Penmen will return to action Saturday, Oct. 18 (3 p.m.) when they play host to in-state rival Franklin Pierce University.
