NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Graduate student
Dani Gonzalez (Llanera, Spain) of the sixth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team, earned the final NE10 Player of the Week award of the season for the period ending Nov. 9, the league office announced Monday.
Gonzalez, who also claimed the honor Oct. 20, recorded two goals and two assists in SNHU's 8-1 victory over Assumption University in Wednesday's regular-season finale. Gonzalez set up the first two scores, notched the fourth goal 4:25 before the break and then made it 6-0 just 52 seconds into the second stanza.
In 15 matches, including 14 starts, Gonzalez has tallied up five goals and six assists for 16 points to slot in third on the team in scoring. He ranks third in the NE10 in assists, fourth in points and 10th in goals. Gonzalez has come alive as of late, registered 15 of his 16 points (5g, 5a) over his last seven outings
Gonzalez and the second-seeded Penmen (14-1-2) host an NE10 Championship semifinal match against third-seeded Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday, Nov. 12 (7 p.m.) at Ouellette Stadium.
